Festival de las Calaveras 2025 is seeking a Social Media Storytelling Intern for a 7–8 week program. This is a unique opportunity to help share the vibrant stories, artists, and events of the 13th Annual Twin Cities Dia de los Muertos Celebration.

Event-Day Volunteers | Shifts: 4–8 hrs | Voluntarios en el evento | Turnos de 4–8 horas

Roles include montaje/limpieza, apoyo artístico, escenario, mercancía, armonía/seguridad y más

1. Volunteer Lead
Tasks:
* Help craft the volunteer shift schedule.

* Welcome volunteers at check-in.

* Distribute t-shirts, badges, and wristbands.

* Guide volunteers to assigned areas and ensure shifts are covered.

* Serve as point of contact for on-site questions or issues.


2. Hospitality & Artist Liaison
Tasks:
* Prepare artist gift bags with itineraries, wristbands, and info packets.

* Deliver gift bags to artist lodging or during sound checks.

* Coordinate with stage managers on artist needs and arrival times.

* Manage green room snacks, drinks, and cleanliness.

* Assist with transportation coordination if needed.


3. Green Room & Hospitality Assistant
Tasks:
* Maintain green room snacks and beverages throughout the event.

* Keep the area clean and stocked.

* Check in with artists and crew to ensure comfort and needs are met.

* Support the Hospitality Lead as needed.


4. Vendor Support
Tasks:
* Assist the Vendor Coordinator with vendor check-in and set-up.

* Help vendors locate their assigned spaces.

* Support vendor needs during the event (e.g., breaks, supplies).

* Assist with vendor area clean-up and take-down after the event.


5. Event Set-Up & Take-Down Crew
Tasks:
* Set up and decorate the venue (banners, papel picado, tents, tables, chairs).

* Prepare green room food and drinks for artists and crew.

* Set up merchandise tables and assist artists with theirs.

* Place trash and recycling bins throughout the venue.

* Deinstall and pack up supplies, signage, and décor after the event.


6. Street Team
Tasks:
* Distribute posters and flyers around the Twin Cities and nearby areas.

* Share festival information at partner venues, community centers, and local businesses.

* Assist with outreach at community events leading up to the festival.


7. Stage & Performance Support
Tasks:
* Assist the Stage Manager with performer load-in and sound checks.

* Help maintain performance area safety and organization.

* Escort artists and performers to the stage as needed.

* Communicate any schedule changes or technical needs to the team.


8. Merchandise Table Assistant
Tasks:
* Help organize and sell festival or artist merchandise.

* Track sales and restock items as needed.

* Provide customer service to guests.

* Assist with merchandise table set-up and take-down.


9. Runner
Tasks:
* Pick up food catering or supplies for artists and volunteers.

* Run quick errands during the event as directed by coordinators.

* Assist with last-minute logistical needs.


10. First Aid
Tasks:
* Staff the festival’s first aid tent.

* Provide basic first aid assistance for guests, artists, and volunteers.

* Monitor safety and respond to minor medical situations as needed.

* Note: Volunteers with experience or certification in first aid, medic, EMT, or nursing training are especially encouraged to sign up for this role.


11. Security & Safety Support
Tasks:
* Help monitor entrances, exits, and crowd flow during the event.

* Assist in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for all attendees.

* Communicate respectfully and de-escalate situations if needed.

* Note: Volunteers with security, community safety, or de-escalation training are highly encouraged to join this team.
